INTRODUCTION OF ASSIGNMENT& TASK

Introduction of Assignment~

to understand man-made surrounding the setting for human activity,ranging in scale from building to parks.This project is to extend knowledge of the built environment at its basic unit,form and function and also understand the interrelation between built environment and its user.To question, analyse and articulate the impact by the built environment.

Task~

-prepare a site inventory (data collection) and evaluation of bukit bintang, jalan alor

-select a street (100m-200m distance)

-take a train to your site through KL’s rail transit network.

- conduct a pre-visit through online platform using 3D street view, google Earth before going to the site

-capture the tangible and intangible built elements in Jalan Alor through photograph, interview, video recording etc.

- sketch perspectives, section when identifying the elements/components on site.

My Process/ Work Progress

We go to Jalan Alor by Lrt and Mrt in 7am morning.

Jalan Alor Street

Jalan Alor morning there is less people because most of the shop is closed before 4pm.Most of the visitor at this time is resident here.

Jalan Alor is alive at night because the shop and stall open .It attract many people because of its vsriety food choice

We proposed "Jiak At Alor" in the street .Jiak At Alor is from Hokkien language Jiak means eat to explain the first impression people to Jalan Alor.We proposed a pergola concept shading at the street with multi function which can function as a shading and also a shading with solar panel to provide electric to the street.

Reflection

I feel fun and inspired while doing the assignment.Fun because of cooperation with my group member and satisfied after completed the board and presentation.I was inspired because of the culture of the street .I can saw people working there is friendly and willing to help other people although is stranger.
